How I Work
I do not believe in making things more complicated than they need to be. Most organizations already have what they need. It is just not always clear how it all fits together.
My role is to help bring that into focus. To slow things down just enough to see what is actually happening, then move forward with structure that supports the work instead of weighing it down.
This work is thoughtful, practical, and grounded in real experience. It is not about quick fixes. It is about building something that holds.

Hi, I’m Heather
My career didn’t follow a straight line. It wandered through marketing, design, communications, and a lot of figuring things out along the way. Then I stepped into what was supposed to be a three-month Executive Director role… and never really left.
Fifteen years later, I help nonprofits and associations find clarity when things feel complicated, build structure that actually supports their work, and move forward with intention instead of overwhelm.
I’m known for seeing the big picture, staying calm in the middle of chaos, and helping good people doing important work get where they’re trying to go.
Why This Work?
I have spent more than a decade working inside mission-driven organizations, leading teams and partnering with boards. I understand how things look on paper and how they actually feel day to day.
This work begins when good people are trying to do meaningful work inside systems that are no longer supporting them.

Most of the work I do happens in moments that feel a little unclear or stretched.
